You are building in the country's #3 biopharma cluster. Your tech should look like it.

You have a scientific edge, a grant or a raise, and a product to build. What you do not have is a senior technical owner: someone accountable for the architecture, the security and the roadmap, who has shipped real products before.

A full-time CTO is expensive and premature. A dev shop leaves you with code you cannot steer and nobody who owns the outcome. In a market this competitive, next to NIH and the FDA, that gap shows.

A senior technical partner, embedded and part-time

I act as your fractional CTO: setting the architecture, choosing the stack, leading delivery and staying accountable for it over time. Not a detached advisor, an owner of the technical outcome, sized to a startup budget.

Built for the BioHealth Capital Region

  • Montgomery County is the #3 biopharma cluster in the US, home to 350+ life-science firms. I build to the standard your funded neighbours already meet.
  • Next door to NIH (Bethesda) and the FDA (White Oak): I design audit-trail-ready, validation-friendly systems, because here 21 CFR Part 11 is a process, not an afterthought.
  • From Rockville, Gaithersburg and Frederick startups to Johns Hopkins and UMB spin-outs, and relocating biotechs landing through MCAN and the Soft-Landing programme who need launch-ready tech fast.

Why founders trust me with it

  • Claude Certified (Anthropic), Acquia Certified, Veeva Certified and ABPI Qualified: I speak both regulated life sciences and modern engineering.
  • 7+ years and 300+ enterprise projects across pharma, healthcare and regulated sectors, with 500+ client testimonials.
  • I have shipped 3 products end to end myself, one Australian product now at AUD 150,000 in revenue, so I lead as a builder, not a bystander.

How we work together

Step 1

Technical review

A scoped, paid discovery: your product, architecture, risks and roadmap, assessed in days, not months.

Step 2

Plan and team

A clear technical roadmap and the right team shape to hit your next milestone or raise.

Step 3

Embedded delivery

I lead the build, own the hard calls, and sit in your leadership conversations.

Step 4

Ongoing accountability

Month to month, accountable for outcomes as you grow. Scale me up or down as you need.

No long-term contract

We start with a scoped, paid discovery so you see how I work before committing. Engagements are month to month and ROI-driven. You keep control, and you keep the code.

Questions, answered

What does a fractional CTO cost?

Far less than a full-time hire. Engagements are usually a monthly retainer scoped to how much leadership you need, and we start with a fixed-price discovery so there are no surprises.

Do you work with pre-seed and NIH-grant startups?

Yes. Much of my best work is with early teams who need senior technical direction before they can justify a full-time CTO.

Do you own delivery, or only advise?

I own it. I set the architecture, lead the build, and stay accountable for the outcome, not a slide deck.

Do you understand HIPAA and 21 CFR Part 11?

Yes. I design for validation and audit trails from day one. Note that Part 11 has no formal certificate; it is a process, and I build for it.

Remote or on-site?

I work remotely with teams across Maryland and the DC metro, with on-site time when it genuinely helps.

Where I work

Rockville, Gaithersburg, Bethesda, Frederick, Silver Spring, Baltimore and the wider Maryland BioHealth Capital Region, remotely.

Let's talk about your build

A straightforward conversation about your product, your constraints, and how I can help. No sales pitch.
